Fri 6/15/2008 Ralph Edwin Davis passed away at 5:04am on Sunday. He finished his days without pain, surrounded by the loving comfort of his family. There will be a viewing at Sturtevant Funeral Home in Portsmouh on Tuesday from 7 - 8:30pm. A memorial service will be held at Sturtevant's at 11am Wednesday, June 18, and Ralph will be laid to rest in Meadowbrook Memorial Cemetery on Shoulder's Hill Road in Suffolk.

Fri 6/13/2008 We rushed Ralph to the hospital last week on a day when his kidneys just would not function. In this long week, the doctors beefed up his blood pressure enough to give him dialysis twice. The procedure has been effective to keep him alive, but there has not been enough forward progress to allow them to operate on his diseased liver. We are now entering a hospice situation.

Ralph deeply appreciates the friendship he has shared with you. Please honor him by giving Mom your support when she finds her way clear to open the store again soon. His son Roger, and his daughter-in-law Sarah, will be helping Verna in serving your model railroading needs.

Mom and Dad are deeply grateful for the tireless care and concern of daughter Cris Salmon and her husband David. It is a blessing of nature that Cris is a nurse, but the precious time Cris and David have spent in taking Dad several times to Richmond, and just being with him almost non-stop at the expense of their jobs and other priorities, is beyond our ability to recognize properly
